Research Interests

I am interested in the sleeping and dreaming brain, memory-related processes during sleep, and the mechanisms behind dreams' production. In particular, understanding how nightmares are produced and the role that stress plays in this process may help improve the treatment of nightmares.

Current Project

I am currently working with an app that provides help for sleep disorders. We want to find out if using the app helps with managing nightmares. At the same time, we want to use EEG studies to find out how brain activity is altered in people with nightmares.  

I also work with the student initiative Sleep&Dream, a group of students who are interested in sleep and dream research and who want to build up the research field of sleep here at the institute through constant exchange, workshops, experiments, and excursions to other sleep labs.
