Communication is characterized by speakers dynamic adaptations and coordination of both linguistic and nonverbal behaviours. We will address this phenomenon of alignment in both human-human and human-computer interaction. Besides empirical evidence for alignment and its underlying cognitive mechanisms and processes we will also address measures and generation approaches of alignment.
